FAQ — RotaFlux
How the credit model works, which rules are supported and who RotaFlux is for.
What is RotaFlux?
A multi-tenant SaaS that computes shift schedules when the rules get complicated. It is used by operations, HR and planning teams in sectors with continuous coverage (hospitals, security, logistics, 24/7 support).
How does the credit model work?
Each schedule run consumes credits from your plan. A run is the full generation of a rota from your team, rules and chosen period. Re-runs, manual adjustments and PDF exports do not consume additional credits within the same run.
The Starter (€5) and Pro (€19) plans are one-time credit packs, no expiry. The Monthly plan (€29/mo) is a subscription that tops up 100 credits each month; unused credits do not roll over.
Which plan suits me?
- Starter (10 credits for €5): serious trial or teams with stable schedules that only recompute occasionally.
- Pro (50 credits for €19): best value per credit. For teams that recompute regularly and want priority support.
- Monthly (100 credits/mo for €29): for teams with continuous planning, priority support included.
If unsure, start with Starter.
Which rules are supported?
- Mandatory rest between shifts (e.g., 12 hours).
- Daily and weekly caps on worked hours.
- Minimum coverage per shift and per role.
- Person-to-person incompatibilities (no overlap on the same shift).
- Individual preferences (preferred shifts, desired days off).
- Holidays and planned absences.
- Rotations, fixed or variable.
If your regulation has a constraint you cannot find, write to [email protected].
What employee data does it need?
Only identity and schedules: name or internal ID, role, contracted hours, preferences, incompatibilities, planned holidays.
It does not need or store absence reasons, medical data, salary, union membership, religion or any other sensitive data. If your organization records absence reasons, keep them in your internal system and export just “absent yes/no” to RotaFlux.
Where is data stored?
All infrastructure is in the European Union. See the subprocessor list for each provider’s location and purpose.
Is it GDPR compliant?
Yes. RotaFlux acts as a Data Processor for the employee data your organization (the Data Controller) uploads. We have a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) ready to sign and a public subprocessor list.
Is there a free trial?
The Starter plan acts as a low-cost entry point (€5 for 10 runs). For special cases or guided trials, contact [email protected].
Is there an API?
An API is on the roadmap. If integrating RotaFlux with your HR system is a priority for you, tell us at [email protected] — real use cases bump priority.
Can I cancel the Monthly subscription?
Yes, at any time. The subscription cancels at the end of the current billing period. No commitments, no penalties.
How do I request a demo?
Write to [email protected] with subject Demo and a few lines describing your case (sector, team size, main pain point). We reply with a guided session.
