Internet de la Cosas Industrial aplicado a la eficiencia energética

Abstract

Globally, IoT is transforming how we produce, manage, and distribute energy. IoT, along with artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and other technologies, is revolutionizing the energy industry. IoT technologies could be the business-change accelerant for power and utilities.

On this occasion, my former colleague and now friend David Fernandez and I were fortunate to be chosen to present how the Internet of Things is applied to improve the energy efficiency of large consumers: industrial processes.

During our presentation, we explained how the Internet of Things has been with us for some time, albeit with other names (telemetry, telecontrol, M2M), embracing many aspects of daily life, business, and information systems.

We were able to offer a less common vision of IoT, the Industrial Internet of Things - IIoT, showing its use as a tool to find new opportunities through improving Energy Efficiency in industrial and office buildings.
